More than AI: people in strategic procurement

Full house at FACTUREE! On Tuesday evening, procurement professionals from Berlin-Brandenburg met for the second round of „Procurement of Tomorrow“. The big question of the evening: What will tomorrow's buyers actually need to know in order to stay on course in a world full of AI and data jungles?

It was clear from the start: the future of shopping is digital, BUT it will be decided by people.

How do we make the leap from being a pure „order office“ to a real strategist who juggles with data instead of just ticking off lists? Strong impulses came from the speakers Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert Dust (bbw University of Applied Sciences) Denis Pede (Head of Procurement at EWM GmbH) and Richard Schentke (Head of HR at FACTUREE).

These were the top topics:

  • Strategy skills: How can purchasing become the most important partner in the company? (Keywords: risk management, stable supply chains and tracking down innovations from suppliers).

  • Digital fitness: It wasn't just about „tools“, but about really using data. Understand. Which AI helpers and platforms will make us faster and smarter?

  • The „new“ role: How do we get the whole team fit for these new tasks?

The after-work event was the perfect opportunity to network and exchange ideas over drinks. A great evening!

All the impressions of the evening were captured for us by Birthe Krüger with the support of the FACTUREE team.
