Manufacturing process

Our Processes for Your CNC Prototypes

FACTUREE uses two main processes for CNC prototyping: CNC milling and CNC turning. Both processes machine parts directly from solid stock, with the same material properties as the eventual production part. This makes CNC machining particularly well-suited for functional prototypes, where fit, strength, and surface quality must be verified as early as the prototype phase.

CNC-milling procedure

FACTUREE uses CNC milling when prototypes require complex geometries, pockets, holes, or contours that can be machined from multiple directions. From 3-axis to 5-axis milling, FACTUREE meets a range of precision and complexity requirements. The process is suitable for both flat housing parts and complex structural components.

CNC turning

FACTUREE uses CNC turning when prototypes require rotationally symmetric geometries, such as shafts, bolts, bushings, or threaded parts. During this process, the component rotates around its own axis while the tool removes material in a controlled manner. In combination with milling operations, even complex turned-milled parts with tight tolerances can be produced directly from a single setup.

CeiliX Technology GmbH develops innovative ceiling crane systems such as the „SkyRunner.“ Since the company did not have its own purchasing department during the early stages of development, CeiliX commissioned FACTUREE. FACTUREE manufactures the high-precision CNC components for prototypes and pre-production runs. Thanks to a network of over 2,000 partners, CeiliX can flexibly implement design changes and reduce the burden on its own resources.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions About CNC Prototyping at FACTUREE

FACTUREE delivers CNC prototypes with quick turnaround times starting at 9 days. To do this, FACTUREE relies on a network of over 2,000 certified manufacturing partners in Germany and Europe. Customers upload their CAD data to the digital request tool, select the material and tolerance, and production begins immediately using available capacity.

FACTUREE manufactures CNC prototypes for drive components such as shafts, bushings, and housings, depending on the material and load requirements. For drive components with tight tolerances or special alloys, FACTUREE relies on partners with the appropriate certifications. This ensures that customers receive reliable and predictable delivery times, even for complex drive prototypes.

FACTUREE handles special material approvals through its extensive partner network, rather than limiting customers to a fixed, limited material portfolio. Because manufacturing is handled by several specialized CNC partners, FACTUREE can respond flexibly even to unusual material requirements. Here you will find FACTUREE’s complete list of materials.
