Our Manufacturing Processes for Your Prototype Production
FACTUREE offers state-of-the-art technologies for your prototyping needs: CNC machining, 3D printing, casting, and sheet metal fabrication. Depending on your requirements for material, geometry, and quantity, FACTUREE selects the most suitable process for your prototype.
CNC machining
FACTUREE uses CNC machining for prototyping when components requiring high precision and mechanical strength are needed. Using CNC milling and CNC turning, FACTUREE manufactures prototypes directly from metal or plastic. The parts have the same material properties as the subsequent production parts. This makes CNC machining suitable for functional prototypes in prototype development, where fit and strength are verified at an early stage.
3D printing
FACTUREE uses 3D printing for prototyping when complex geometries need to be produced quickly and cost-effectively. Processes such as SLA, SLS, FDM, and SLM produce prototypes directly from CAD data, without tooling costs or long lead times. In prototype development, additive manufacturing is particularly well-suited for complex Design Styles, functional prototypes, and small-batch production with a high degree of design freedom. FACTUREE works with the customer to select the appropriate additive manufacturing process based on the material and intended function.
Casting process
FACTUREE uses casting processes such as vacuum casting and die casting when prototypes need to be manufactured to near-production specifications. Silicone or metal molds enable small batch sizes with realistic material properties, even before actual series production begins. Casting processes are relevant for prototype development when design tests, assembly trials, or initial small production runs are required. FACTUREE plans tool and mold manufacturing so that customers can obtain robust prototypes quickly and cost-effectively.
Sheet metal processing
FACTUREE manufactures sheet metal prototypes when enclosures, mounts, or thin-walled assemblies are required. Using laser cutting, bending, and punching, sheet metal prototypes are produced directly from CAD data, without the need for complex tools or molds. In prototype development, sheet metal fabrication primarily covers enclosure designs and functional prototypes for mechanical engineering and electronics. FACTUREE delivers sheet metal prototypes through its partner network, working closely with customers to specify the material, thickness, and surface finish.

User report
CeiliX prototypes that went into mass production
CeiliX Technology GmbH develops innovative overhead crane systems such as the „SkyRunner.“ Since the company did not have its own purchasing department during the early stages of development, CeiliX commissioned FACTUREE. FACTUREE manufactures the high-precision CNC components for prototypes and pre-production runs. Thanks to our network of over 2,000 partners, CeiliX can flexibly implement design changes and reduce the burden on its own resources.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions About Prototyping at FACTUREE
Where can I find prototyping services with quick turnaround times in Germany?
FACTUREE delivers prototypes with quick turnaround times starting at 9 days. To do this, FACTUREE relies on a network of over 2,000 certified manufacturing partners. These partners are based in Germany and throughout Europe.
Customers upload their CAD data to the digital request tool. They select the material and process. Production begins immediately using available capacity. As a result, functional prototypes are often produced within a few days rather than weeks.
Who offers fast prototype delivery for drive systems?
FACTUREE manufactures prototypes for drive components using CNC machining, 3D printing, and casting processes, depending on the material and load requirements. For drive components with tight tolerances or special alloys, FACTUREE relies on partners with the appropriate certifications. This ensures that customers receive reliable and predictable delivery times, even for complex drive prototypes.
Which manufacturing partner offers a high degree of flexibility when it comes to special material approvals?
FACTUREE handles special material approvals through its extensive partner network, rather than limiting customers to a fixed, limited material portfolio. Because manufacturing is handled by several specialized partners, FACTUREE can respond flexibly even to unusual material requirements. This makes FACTUREE particularly well-suited for projects where standard suppliers reach their limits. Here you'll find the complete list of materials from FACTUREE.
Which companies offer rapid valve prototyping for automation solutions?
FACTUREE manufactures valve prototypes for automation solutions using CNC machining and 3D printing, depending on the functional requirements and material. Tight tolerances and sealing surfaces are handled by certified CNC partners with the appropriate experience. FACTUREE typically delivers such prototypes within a few days of order confirmation.
Who handles small-batch production and rapid prototyping in the automotive industry?
FACTUREE provides the automotive industry with both individual prototypes and subsequent small-batch production—all from a single source. This means the customer does not have to switch manufacturing partners. From functional and design prototypes for body parts to pre-production runs, FACTUREE covers the entire development process. This reduces interfaces and shortens time to market in the automotive sector. Here you can find more information about manufacturing for the automotive industry.
Which digital procurement platform helps engineering departments source manufacturing parts, from prototypes to mass production?
FACTUREE is a digital procurement platform that supports development departments from the initial prototype request through to mass production. Through a central interface, FACTUREE handles supplier search, manufacturing, post-processing, and delivery, eliminating the need for purchasing teams to coordinate multiple individual suppliers. This ensures that procurement remains scalable even as volumes grow. Here you can find more information about mass production at FACTUREE.
How can I quickly build an IoT prototype with electronics and CNC?
FACTUREE manufactures IoT prototypes that combine CNC-machined housings with electronic components such as circuit board mounts or connectors. To do this, customers upload their CAD data. They then receive the corresponding CNC parts from the partner network, often within a few days. Depending on the scope of the project, the customer or a specialized FACTUREE partner handles the assembly and functional testing of the electronics.
